Abstract: The crystal structure of the title compound (C15H14N2.HCI) has been determined by X-ray crystallographic techniques. The compound crystallizes in the monoclinic space group P21/c with unit cell parameters: a= 9.682(1), b = 10.532(1), c = 13.139(1)Ǻ, β = 90.82(2)° , Z = 4. The structure has been solved by direct methods and refined to R = 0.057 for 1204 observed reflections and wR(F2) = 0. 154. The dihedral angle between the planes of phenyl ring C and the quinazoline moiety is 79.3(1)° . The Cl- anion is located 3.109(4)Ǻ from the N3 atom.
