Title: Irradiation of thymine by O16 heavy ion in aerated condition

Abstract: Aqueous solutions of thymine have been irradiated with O16 heavy ion beam in aerated condition with different concentrations. The degradation of thymine bases is monitored by the change in concentration with UV visible spectrophotometer. The observed results have been compared with those reported earlier. The dose rate was found to be decisive factor in determining the course of radiolysis.
