Abstract: The normal coordinate analysis of 2-methylindoline and 5-hydroxyindane has been carried by assuming C, point group symmetry. The potential energy constants are obtained by applying Wilson's FG matrix method. The potential energy distribution has also been calculated to check the validity of the assignments proposed in this study.
