Abstract: A novel method of using artificial neural networks (ANNs) for the calculation of the resonant frequency of electrically thick and thin circular microstrip patch antenna has been adopted in this paper. It is useful for the computer-aided design (CAD) of microstrip antennas. The results obtained using ANNs are compared with the measured and calculated values reported by other authors. The theoretical resonant frequency values obtained using ANNs are in very good agreement with measured and calculated values reported by other researchers.
