Abstract: The various practical and theoretical approaches adopted during the last decade towards the environment-friendly chemical processing of wool and silk are highlighted. The ways and means are available at the disposal of a chemical processor to evolve an ecofriendly wool/silk product, even with desired value addition. However, certain processes like ultrasound and plasma treatment need to be explored at the bulk processing level.
