Title: Structure, magnetic properties and magnetoelectric effect in Mn-ferrite-barium titanate composites

Abstract: Polycrystalline samples of mixed composites of MnFe2O4+BaTiO3 have been prepared by a standard ceramic method. The phase formations in the composites have been confirmed using XRD. The lattice parameter of ferrite phase increases with BaTiO3 content. However, the lattice parameters of ferroelectric phase do not vary much. The magnetisation (Ms) decreases with decrease of ferrite content. The χac -T plots indicate that the present composites contain MD particles. The Curie temperature decreases with increase in BaTiO3 content. The magnetoelectric effect has been studied as a function of dc magnetic field. The maximum value of magnctoelectric conversion factor (dE/dH) is observed as 180μV/cm/Oe in the composition containing BaTiO3 (50 mole%).
