dc.description.abstractNylon and polyester fibres have been dyed with a natural dye extracted from Ratanjot (Onosoma echoides) . Results indicate that the dye has good affinity for nylon and polyester. Dyeings are deep in colour and fast to light and washing, and the dyeing mechanism corresponds to the partition mechanism confirming that the naphthoquinone based dye alkannin is adsorbed by nylon and polyester as a disperse dye.en_US
