|Title:||Separation of neodymium from copper using supported liquid membrane loaded with D2EHPA|
|Authors:||Gill, J S|
|Abstract:||The process of supported liquid membrane (SLM) has been used to extract and separate neodymium and copper from dilute solution (Cu: 1g/L and Nd: 0.3g/L). The SLM was formed by loading di(2-ethyl-hexyl)phosphoric acid( D2EHPA) in the pores of PTFE membrane. Initially a transport study was made on the individual metal, as a function of feed pH and strip acidity, employing 1M D2EHPA dissolved in kerosene. From the permeability values obtained, feed pH of 1 and strip acidity of 1 M were chosen and extraction and separation of Nd from Cu carried out effectively.|
