Abstract: Equilibrium solubility of cesium chloride-hydrochloric acid-water system is measured in the temperature range of -24 to 50°C. Based on this data and the solubility data of the cesium chloride-water system available in the literature, a simple and practical method for preparation and purification of cesium chloride is presented. A rapid and sensitive analytical system employing atomic absorption spectrometry (AAS) convenient to monitor the quality of the products is also described.
