Abstract: 3-Aryl-4 (2'-aminothiazol-4'-yl) sydnones 2a-m when subjected to Mannich reaction with 8-hydroxyquinoline give the triheterocyclic Mannich bases 3a-m. Similar reaction with orthohydroxy acetophenone resulted in the formation of the methylamino derivatives 4a-m. All these compounds have been evaluated for antimicrobial activity, while compounds 3a-m have been screened for their antitubercular activity also.
