Abstract: 2-Hydroxy-6-pentadecylbenzoic acidl 1, 2-hydroxy-6-(8,11-pentadecadienyl)benzoic acid2 2 and 2-hydroxy-6-(8,11,14-pentadecatrienyl)benzoic acid2 3 have been isolated from the crude extracts of plants from Anacardiaceae family by bioactive guided purification. Compound 1 has been isolated from pet. Ether extract of twigs of Rhus semialata and 2, 3 from CH2Cl2-MeOH (1:1) extract of the dried pericarp of the fruits of Anacardium occidentale. All the three compounds show good IҡBα kinase inhibitory activity.
