dc.description.abstract4-O-(-β-D-glucopyranosyloxy)-4, 6-diaryl-tetrahydropyrimidine-2-thiones have been synthes ized by the reaction of equimolar amounts of 2,3 ,4,6-tetra-O-acetyl-α-D-glycosyl bromide-1 via its potassium salt of 4'-hydroxy-4,6-diaryl-tetrahydropyrimidine-2-thione followed by catalytic deacetylation with CH3ONa in methanol. Products are characterized by FT-IR, 1H NMR, 13C NMR, FAB-MS, optical activity, elemental analysis and chemical properties.en_US
