Abstract: The crystal structure of ethyl-[(2-amino-4-phenyl)-5-thiazolyl]acetate has been determined by X-ray methods. The compound crystallizes under monoclinic system (space group P2l/c) with cell parameters: a= 7.5 86(5)Å, b = 15.475(5)Å, c = 11.543(2)Å and β= 104.56(1)o. The structure has been solved by direct method and refined by full matrix least squares method to final R = 0.052 using 2137 reflections. The molecule on the whole is non-planar and the crystal structure is stabilized significantly by intra-and inter- molecular hydrogen bonds.
