Abstract: Hydrothermal reaction of cobalt(II) acetate with pyridine-2,6-dicarboxylato)(1,10-phenanthroline) has afforded aqua(pyridine-2,6-dicarboxylato)(1,10-phenanthroline)cobalt(II) dehydrate (1). X-ray structure determination shows that complex 1 crystallized in the triclinic space group P-1. A one-dimensional assembly has been formed by the intermolecular π-π interactions between the 1,10-phenanthroline units.
