Abstract: | Polycrystalline samples of 0.85Pb[(Mg₂/₃Cd₁/₃)₁/₃Ta₂/₃]O₃-0.15PbTiO₃ with 7.5% of ZnO having a tetragonal perovskite type structure have been prepared using high temperature solid-state reaction method. Dielectric studies indicate relaxor behaviour with diffuse phase transition. High value of Ɛm > 3000 is realized with Tm (phase transition temperature) at 43ºC at 1 kHz. Fitting of dielectric data using Vogel-Fulcher relationship indicates that the system is analogous to magnetic relaxation in spin-glass system with polarization fluctuations above a static freezing temperature. Cole-Cole analyses showed the non-Debye type relaxation in the system. The electrical conduction in the system may be due to the short-range translational hopping of charge carriers. |
