Abstract: The paper reviews various provisions of TRIPS and points out inconsistencies in many of them vis-a-vis its overall objective. It suggests some remedial measures to be taken by developing countries during the remaining time of transition period before making appropriate changes in their patent laws in conformity with TRIPS.
