Abstract: Synthesis of 2-oxo-2H-chromene-3-carboxylic acid (5-methyl -3- isoxazolyl) and (3-methyl-5-styryl-4-isox azolyl)amides 3 and 6 has been achieved from aminoisoxazoles, by treatment with diethyl malonoate followed by cyclization with salicylaldehydes.
