Abstract: Ten large flowered chrysanthemum cultivars growing in experimental plots of Floriculture Division of CSIR-NBRI, Lucknow were selected for morphological and biochemical characterization. For morphological characterization data were recorded on plant height, number of branches, stem diameter, plant spreading (north-south and east-west), leaf number and size (length, width and petiole), colour, chlorophyll content (chlorophyll a, b and total) and flower characteristics like bud initiation, first colour shown and full bloom, number of flowers, colour, weight, height, number of ray florets and their number, length and width etc. Under biochemical characterization programme ray florets were collected for detailed analysis of anthocyanins, carotenoides and flavonoids. On the basis of morphological and biochemical analysis, this study clearly shows differences between different cultivars of Chrysanthemum.
