Title: Studies of reduction of thallium (III) cyanide complexes using thiocyanate with multinuclear NMR in aqueous acidic solution

Abstract: An aqueous acidic solution containing an equal amount of Tl (CN)+ 2 and Tl(CN)3 complex is added to sodium thiocyanate solution. The resultant mixed product Tl (CN)2 (SCN), is found to be in fast exchange with Tl (CN)2+ complex. The chemical shifts for the complex formed in solution (containing ionic medium, [LiClO4 (Li+ + H+), ClO-4 ; 3M)] have been measured and characterised by multinuclear NMR studies. In addition to this, the reaction mixture has also been studied by chemical analysis of the solution at various intervals of time.
