Abstract: Bis(2-ethylhexyl) phosphoric acid (D2EHPA) has been used as a highly efficient carrier for the transport of indium ions through a carbon tetrachloride bulk liquid membrane. Using 5M HCl in the receiving phase, the amount of indium transported across the liquid membrane, after 2.5 hours was 96 ± 2%. The selectivity and efficiency of indium transport from acidic solution containing a competing ion has been investigated. Results showed that the interfering effect of the various ions tested on transport of indium ion was negligible.
