Abstract: Triangular potential sweep voltammetric technique is used to determine the reversibility of the cadmium electrode in 6M KOH . The influence of Sb2O3 V2O5, PbO and Bi2O5 on the reversibility of electrode is examined. Self-discharge currents are determined by potentiostatic polarization method. The addition of lower concentrations of all the additives except PbO is found to be beneficial for the performance of cadmium electrode in 6M KOH.
