|Title:||Modelling of tropospheric ozone in the equatorial region|
|Abstract:||The averaged ozone profile at the Indian station Trivandrum (8° N) is analyzed to get its characteristics in the tropical region. The vertical profile derived from rocket and balloonsonde data shows low concentration of ozone in the 8-12 km altitude range. A photochemical-diffusive model has been developed to explain this phenomenon. The calculated profile obtained from the model does not give the knee in the above mentioned height range, but the shape produced by the model tallies with the observed profiles.|
