dc.description.abstractIn the presence of Co(II) [meso-tetra(chloromethyl-phenyl) porphyrin] (CoTCMPP), the oxidation of aromatic alde-hydes has been investigated with molecular oxygen under illumination with 450W high pressure mercury lamp(HPML). The oxygen uptake is measured during the reaction process. It is observed that CoTCMPP can catalyze the oxidation of aromatic aldehydes under the mild condition (30°C, 1 atm O2). The major products are aromatic acids. The effects of some factors, such as catalyst, substrate, solvent and additive in the oxidation reaction system are discussed in detail.en_US
