Abstract: Computer based analysis of the batch wise pH titration data on M(II)-2- pyridinecarboxaldehyde(pyal) (A)-L-histidine (B) [where M=Co, Ni, Cu and Zn] systems show the presence of MAB, MA2B, MAB2 or MA2B2. The results indicate that in the M(AB), M(AB)A and M(AB)B complexes, (AB) binds tetradentately, while (AB) is tridentate in M(AB)2. The electronic spectral measurements demonstrate square planar and octahedral geometries respectively for MAB and M(AB)2 complexes.
