Abstract: Alcoholysis of bimetallic-μ-oxoisopropoxide Bu2Sn(OAc)OAI(OPri)2[I] and Bu2SnO2AI2 (OPri)4 [II] has been carried out with cyclic alcohols, viz., cyclopentanol (CyPH), cyclohexanol (CyHxH) and cycloheptanol (CyHpH). The isopropoxy replacement reactions of these compounds I and II with cyclic alcohol yield compounds of the type Bu2Sn(OAc)OAI(OPri)2-n  L(where n=1 or 2) and Bu2Sn(OAc)OAI(OPri)4-n Ln (where n= 1 to 3) (L= deprotonated anion of cyclic alcohol). The novel compounds have been characterised on the bas is of IR. 1H NMR, 13C NMR, 119Sn NMR and 27 AI NMR.
