| Abstract: | The effect of
magnetic field dependent viscosity on ferroconvection subjected to two
dimensional magnetic field in an anisotropic sparsely distributed porous medium
has been analyzed. The fluid layer is assumed to be bounded by free boundaries.
The exact solution of constitutive equation is derived using linear theory.
Wide range of values of the ratio of horizontal, vertical temperature gradient,
anisotropic parameter, permeability of the porous medium, coefficient of
magnetic dependent viscosity and the magnetization parameter have been
considered. The system is found to stabilize only through stationary mode of
instability. It is also seen that oscillatory instability cannot occur. |
