Abstract:   A series of new 4-(4-substitutedphenyl)-N-(4-substituted­benzylidene)-thiazol-2-amine derivatives 5a-l has been synthe­sized and evaluated for their anti-inflammatory and analgesic activities at a dose of 50 mg/kg p.o. The most active compounds 5a, 5j have been subjected to acute ulcerogenesis study at a dose of 150 mg/kg. The structure of all these compounds have been established on the basis of spectral (IR, 1H NMR data) studies.
