Abstract: This study introduces a novel methodology for early detection of broken-rotor-bars and bearing faults on induction motors by using singular value decomposition and information entropy estimation to detect motor operational condition. Proposed technique could detect these faults with a certainty greater than 99.7%. A field programmable gate array implementation is developed for online application of proposed approach in real-time.
