Abstract: <span style="font-size:9.0pt;font-family:" times="" new="" roman";="" mso-fareast-font-family:"times="" roman";mso-ansi-language:en-in;mso-fareast-language:="" en-in;mso-bidi-language:ar-sa"="">This study introduces a novel methodology for early detection of broken-rotor-bars and bearing faults on induction motors by using singular value decomposition and information entropy estimation to detect motor operational condition. Proposed technique could detect these faults with a certainty greater than 99.7%. A field programmable gate array implementation is developed for online application of proposed approach in real-time.</span>
