| Abstract: | The reaction of
cholest-4-en-3,6-dione, 1 with N-bromosuccinimide in dimethyl
sulphoxide furnishes three compounds which have been identified as 2,7a-dibromocholest-1,4-dien-3,6-dione
2, 2,2,7a-tribromocholest-4-en-3,6-dione, 3 and 2a,7a-dibromocholest-4-en-3,6-dione
4 by various spectroscopic methods. |
