Abstract: An easy and efficient oxidative cyclization of Schiff bases, derived from the condensation of <i style="">o</i>-aminophenol with aromatic aldehydes, to 2-arylbenzoxazoles is described using <i style="">in situ</i> generated tetraethylammonium superoxide in aprotic solvent at room temperature.
