Abstract: An easy and efficient oxidative cyclization of Schiff bases, derived from the condensation of o-aminophenol with aromatic aldehydes, to 2-arylbenzoxazoles is described using in situ generated tetraethylammonium superoxide in aprotic solvent at room temperature.
