| Title: | Fun Quiz - How much do you know about the Earth and the Moon |
| Authors: | Mishra, Lambodara |

| Abstract: | DURING the early seventies, NASA was sending manned lunar missions about
every six months (Apollo-11 in July 1969 to Apollo-17 in December 1972). It was
the most exciting of times. During these missions, teenagers like us would wait
eagerly for the newspaper (almost the only source of news at those times, the
only other source being the radio) to arrive in the morning, to read details of
the missions. So, we used to think a lot about the moon and the earth. Also, we
wondered what it must be like on the moon when it is day or night there, what
the earth looks like from the moon and so on. Once the Apollo program ended,
the moon got less attention from the media and people’s excitement waned. Now
that India
has started sending probes to the moon, it must have aroused the curiosity of
many regarding the moon! |
