dc.description.abstractThe effect of photoperiod on the passage of food through different regions of gut in silkworm (Bombyx mori Linn.) Bivoltine larvae has been studied in detail. Variation in the photoperiod influences the rate of movement of food passing through the gut. Food passage fasten during dark phase in comparison to the light condition in different regions of the gut. Similarly the rate of egestion of excretory pellet is also influenced by light in all larval stages (IIIrd, IVth & Vth ).en_US
