| Abstract: | The aim of this study was to evaluate
anthelmintic efficacy of the Prosopis
cineraria (Linn.) Druce bark. Petroleum ether, methanolic and aqueous
extracts of the bark were evaluated separately for anthelmintic activity on
adult Indian earthworm Pheretima posthuma,
using albendazole as reference standard. Time required for the paralysis and
death was noted. The results indicated that the methanolic extract was more
potent than the petroleum ether and aqueous extract. |
