Abstract: This study presents auto-regulative capability of pot irrigation and finds out influence of moisture deficit and soil tension on the release of water through pot. Analysis of data shows that hydraulic conductivity alone does not control water release rate; pore size has a significant effect. Further, although variations in water release rate within 24 h can be correlated with changes in moisture deficit during that period, overall trend is strongly dependent on soil tension.
