| Abstract: | Exopolysaccharide (EPS), pullulan, production by Aureobasidium pullulans strain MTCC 1991 was evaluated using
cassava starch residue (CSR), wheat bran (WB) and rice bran (RB) as solid substrates as well as carbon source, with or
without amendment of basal (mineral) medium. EPS production was negligible without amendment of basal medium on all
tested substrates but with the supplementation of basal medium, production of EPS was maximum on CSR (27.5 g. kg⁻¹
substrate), followed by WB (19.5g.kg⁻¹ substrate) and RB (2.4g.kg⁻¹ substrate). |
