|Abstract:||<b>Cosmetics</b>- Microbial contamination of cosmetic products is a concern to industry and regulatory agencies. Moreover, it constitutes a threat to consumer safety, as well as the marketing image of cosmetics.The quest for safety is of utmost importance, since cosmetics are used foraesthetic reasons and should carry a low health risk to the consumer. <br><br><b>Dye</b>- The woody shrub, Firebush, Hamelia patens Jacq. is grown as an ornamental plant in gardens. It bears attractive orange-red tubular flowers during rainy season. The leaves of the tree contain a dye and are not used for any other purpose.|
