Abstract: Jaundice is a yellowish discolouration of the skin, mucous membrane and the eyeballs caused by inadequate clearing and increased amount of serum bilirubin in the blood. Bilirubin is a byproduct of the degradation ofhaemoglobin, which is a component of red blood cells.
