| Abstract: | Viscosities ( ), densities ( ) and
ultrasonic velocities (U) have been measured at 303.15, 308.15 and
313.15 K for the ternary systems of propanone, butan-2-one and pentan-2-one
with the binary mixtures of cyclohexane and 1-propanol. Using these measured
values, adiabatic compressibility ( ), free
length (Lf), internal pressure ( i), acoustic impedance (Z), Gibb’s
free energy ( G)
and their excess values for all the three systems have been calculated. The
behaviour of these parameters with composition of the mixture has been
discussed in terms of molecular interactions between the components of liquids.
Moreover, the experimental values of ultrasonic speeds were compared with those
calculated by using Nomoto’s relation, ideal mixture relation and impedance
dependence relation. The suitability of these theories and relations in
reproducing the experimental ultrasonic speed has also been studied. |
