| Abstract: | Six crude extracts from the roots of Rumex nepalensis Spreng. were evaluated for in vitro antimicrobial activity against two Gram positive (Staphylococcus aureus, Streptococcus mutans) and two Gram negative bacteria (Escherichia coli, Pseudomonas aeruginosa) and one fungus, Candida albicans. The agar plate well diffusion method was used for
different samples. Benzene and ethyl acetate extracts demonstrated significant
inhibitory effect against majority of microorganisms under test. |
