Abstract: A detailed voltammetric study was carried out for iodate ion which has resulted in optimization of analytical conditions for its trace level determination using differential pulse polarographic method. Chlorate and bromate did not interfere. The detection limit was 0.6 µg/mL. The method has successfully been applied for the analysis of iodate in different matrices.
