| Abstract: | Studies
were carried out using Pseudomonas sp. NCIM 2875 strain to achieve
optimum growth and
hydantoinase
activity. A medium containing glucose-NartO, with supplement of salts, yeast
extract (0.1%) and
peptone
was developed. Maximum cell (wet wt) yield and hydantoinase activity was 12.7 gl-1
and 4.63 units ( M of
N-carbamoylphenylglycine
formed/minlg wet wt cells), respectively. The activity was higher than that
obtained after
cultivation of strain on nutrient broth medium. |
