| Abstract: | Static dielectric constant ( ) and high frequency limit
dielectric constant ( ) of binary mixtures of rigid
polar molecules bromobenzene and nitrobenzene each with three alcohols
methanol, 1-propanol and 1-butanol over the entire concentration range have
been determined at 28°C. Static dielectric constant
values were found to deviate from ideal behaviour
with concentration variation of the mixture constituents in all the mixture
systems. The character changes of the static dielectric constant were
determined in terms of excess values of Î0 as a function of composition
of mixtures. The information regarding orientation of electric dipoles in polar
liquids were obtained from the Kirkwood
correlation factor. The determined values of the Bruggeman factor confirmed the
molecular interaction between the constituents of the binary mixtures. |
