Abstract: The rare and extremely unstable M-SH linkage uniquely prevalent in xanthine oxidase class of enzymes, has been modeled with the relevant Mo(V)-SH moiety in three new complexes. These complexes are characterized fully by X-ray structure analysis, spectroscopic studies and by DFT level of calculations.
