| Abstract: | Thiazolidin-4-ones 3a-l, 4a-l have been synthesized by the
cyclocondensation of thioglycolic acid/thiolactic acid, 2-amino benzothiazoles 2a-d and 2-chloro-3-formyl quinolines 1a-c in the presence of ZnCl2.
The structure of the compounds 3a-l,
4a-l have been confirmed from 1H NMR, 13C NMR, FT-IR
spectroscopy and elemental analysis. All the compounds have been screened for
their antimicrobial and antifungal activity against several microbes. |
