| Abstract: | New expression for
temperature dependence of thermal expansivity has been derived in high
temperature region. Newly developed relationship is based on the linear
relationship between thermal expansivity and isothermal bulk modulus at
temperatures higher than the Debye temperature. Developed expression is used to
estimate the temperature dependence of thermal expansivity and volume expansion
ratio for ionic solids viz. NaCl, KCl, MgO and CaO. An agreement between theory
and experiment reveals the validity of the present approach. |
