| Abstract: | An efficient and
simple method for the preparation of 3-chloromethyl-1,2-benzisoxazoles by
modified Boekelheide rearrangement using phosphorous oxychloride in moderate
to good yields has been reported. The scope of the process in terms of
synthetic utility and versatility is established. |
