Abstract: A new complex, [Ni(L1)(L2)(H2O)]ClO4, (L1 = 2-(2′-pyridyl)- benzothiazole), L2 = N-[(1)-pyridin-2-ylmethylidene] benzo-hydrazone), has been synthesized and characterized by various physico-chemical techniques. The nickel atom is coordinated in a distorted octahedral geometry. The metal center is coordinated through azomethine nitrogen, pyridine nitrogens, carbonyl oxygen and one nitrogen atom of L1. Additionally, the pyridyl planes in complex are engaged in intra- and intermolecular hydrogen bonding interactions
