dc.description.abstractThis paper presents an experimental investigation on nucleate pool boiling of saturated liquids, viz. water, methanol and isopropanol on a 26 μm thick copper coated mild steel heating tube at atmospheric and subatmospheric pressures. Enhancement of heat transfer coefficient due to coating is found for all boiling liquids. Thermal performance of a coated tube is evaluated in terms of heat flux and pressure and thereby a criterion for enhancement of heat transfer coefficient for the boiling of saturated liquids on a copper coated tube is established.en_US
