Abstract: The enthalpies of dilution of inositol in aqueous sodium chlo-ride solution at various concentrations have been determined by isothermal flow-mixed microcalorimetry at 298.15 K. The homo-geneous enthalpic coefficients have been calculated over a large range of concentration of aqueous sodium chloride solution ac-cording to the excess enthalpy concept. The results show that enthalpic pairwise interaction coefficients (h₂) of inositol are negative in aqueous sodium chloride solution and become less negative with increase in concentration of sodium chloride.
