|Abstract:||Gossypin-a potential lead from nature is isolated and a series of its derivatives (<b style="">SGGOS 1-9</b>) were synthesized and characterized by IR, <sup>1</sup>H NMR, mass spectral and elemental analyses. The <i style="">in vitro</i> cytotoxic activity on HT29 and HeLa cell lines, and <i style="">in vivo</i> anti-inflammatory activities of the compounds were evaluated. The synthesized variants have shown good anticancer and anti-inflammatory activities compared to gossypin.|
